Hello from Nicola

Hello to all; Today is the first day in ten days that I felt like I was on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, Stephen appears to have a small case of my nasty bug. My good friend , Beth Woodruff aka Scholten has been back and forth to Beloit the past month because her mother has been very ill post a long bout of ovarian cancer and is now at home on Hospice. For some reason I felt compelled to go there today and arrived at the Scholten's house with a Diet Coke for Beth, a coffee for Walt and a salad lunch and spent from 11:00 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. with them. Joyce, the mother had slipped into a coma earlier in the week and was unresponsive but not in apparent pain. I left and Joyce passed away at 3:30 today. Beth and I have been friends since I was sixteen and I felt great that I was able to be with her on such a difficult day.The visitation is set for Friday with the funeral on Saturday, Stephen and I will be in Northfield Minnesota watching Dominick run at Nationals.
